Kindness
Future leadership
This week Greta Thunberg held an emotional speech for the EU parliament that got viral and was praised around the world. Her energetic and focused aim to have adult decision makers realise that we need to change they way we use this planet is admirable. But what hits me most is that she is kind. She is a person who seems to be genuinely kind. She is maybe also young enough to still be a child that hasn’t yet been destroyed by happenings or personal disaster.
I found myself thinking, what if we had more leaders like her? Is this what the future could look like? Kind leadership hand in hand with researchers, scientists and economists?
“ This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. ”
- Dalai Lama
Kind leaders change the world, transform organisations and collaborate. Kind leaders inspire creativity and productivity, share meaningful connections and are generous delegators. By empowering others to succeed, kind leaders create an environment for the organisation as a whole to succeed. We need to recognise these leaders to cultivate, develop and expand our societies.
